Yale Peabody Museum of natural history
CLIENT Personal Project
SERVICES Branding • Logo • Website
Yale’s Peabody Museum was a frequent destination for me as a child, from school field trips to Saturday afternoon visits with my parents. So it was unfortunate to see that while all these wonderful new renovations were (at the time) going on to revamp the museum, the website and overall branding for the museum still felt a little outdated to me.
Challenge
Take inspiration from the classic, outdated logo and modernize it for a new era without destroying its nostalgic look
Create a more visually impactful website mockup that is more inviting than the original
Solution
I used this project as an excuse to break out my calligraphy nibs. The new logo wordmark is hand-lettered, while the new shades of blue are more classic and subtle than the original cobalt. The website mockup uses larger photos to create more impact for visitors as well as more white space for text sections so the site is easier to read through and navigate.
